My first job in rallysport came as early as 1979 ( i was 16 years old ).

One day a person by the name of Rob Simons comes in my fathers Garage and he was asking if my father was interested in sponsering him in Rallysport

He said he was driving a Fiat Coupe and he wanted to do some Rally's and some Slalom events in Netherlands.
My father said he was not really interested because Motorsport costs a lot of money, etc.

The next day Rob Simons came back with a Fiat 128 Rally car, with full decoration and as Sponsor name my Fathers Garage !!

This of course surprised my father and he could not say no, so we started driving in the Dutch national championship 1979.
and i started helping them with the Rally service and prepairing the car ( mostly cleaning the car during service, but i was happy to be involved ).
